Cattle Dexters Dexters originate from Ireland. They are the smallest cow breed in the world. In previous centuries, Dexters were an useful dual-purpose breed, dairy as well as beef. Today, raising the larger cow breeds is more efficient than raising the small Dexters due to the ever-increasing world population. |

| Fortunately, there are many small holders who keep these friendly and pretty cows. Dexters come in three different colours. Black is the most common, then red, and dun being the rarest. The Dexter herd has never been infected with Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, commonly known as mad cow disease. | |
